DIZI TRIBE VIDEO - Maji on Omo Valley Tour, Ethiopia

A local market, coffee, chaos and color in Maji with the dizi tribe

Bright and colourful, full of curious and friendly people from Ethiopias Dizi tribe, Maji is a busy town in South West Ethiopia. It is located in the Bench Maji Zone of the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region. It used to be visited by tourists who were visiting the Suri Tribe in the upper Omo Valley, but in more recent years most travellers/tourists by-pass this town on an Omo Valley photography tour and take a more direct route.

Going to places that aren’t frequently visited by tourists is what I love the most, so Maji was added to this itinerary!

This preview video gives a glimpse of some highlights on my days in Maji with the friendly Dizi tribe which are one of the many indigenous tribes of Ethiopia. I have shared some of the experiences in detail with photos in my next blog posts which are also linked below.
